River Calder
The impacts from heavy rain associated with Storm Bert, and snowmelt over higher ground caused river levels to rise through Saturday 23rd November. Further rainfall is expected at times overnight and on Sunday 24th November. River levels are now falling but are expected to remain relatively high, and flooding remains possible.
Impacts remain possible in the Todmorden, Hebden Bridge and Mytholmroyd areas throughout Saturday night and into Sunday morning. The A646 Halifax Road is currently closed due to flooding.
Flooding of roads and low lying land remains possible from rivers and surface water. We are closely monitoring the situation and our Area Incident Room shall continue to be open through the weekend.
Take care and avoid walking, cycling or driving through flood water or walking near swollen rivers - especially as gale force winds are still forecast over the weekend.

River levels are rising as a result of persistent heavy rainfall and rapid snow melt. This rainfall will continue through much of today, Saturday 23 November 2024.
Levels at Hebden Bridge are forecast to continue to rise until about 16:00 this afternoon. Areas most at risk are along Stubbing Holme Road.
We are monitoring the situation closely. Please avoid using low lying footpaths near local watercourses and plan driving routes to avoid low lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded. River Calder
River levels have risen as a result of persistent heavy rainfall from Storm Ciara. Although river levels are currently levelling off, a further heavy pulse of rain is forecast later this morning, 09/02/20. We expect this to cause a sharp river response, raising levels higher than just seen in the first peak. Consequently, flooding of property is possible from around 08:30, 09/02/20. Areas most at risk are along Stubbing Holme Road.
The Hebden Bridge sirens have been sounded.
We expect river levels to continue to rise until midday today. We are closely monitoring the situation.
Please put your flood plan into action and see GOV.UK for a 5 day flood forecast. Please plan driving routes to avoid low lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded, and avoid contact with flood water. Halifax Road at Callis Bridge has been affected by surface water flooding, so please take care if driving in the area.
